Good morning & happy Sunday!
As many of you know, holistic wellness and living are deep passions of mine. It’s so woven into my daily life that I often don’t even realize I’m practicing it until someone points it out.
I think the term holistic living can sometimes feel vague or even intimidating—like it requires fancy rituals or complicated routines. But at its core, holistic living is simply about working with your body, not against it—supporting its natural processes so it can function at its best. It’s about tuning in, making intentional choices, and using nature as an ally in daily wellness. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming; in fact, it’s often the small, simple shifts that make the biggest difference.
And don’t get me wrong—even though I practice this way of life, I am nowhere near perfect! I’m human—I mess up, make mistakes, and am constantly learning. Holistic living isn’t about perfection; it’s about awareness, balance, and doing the best you can with what you have. 💛
So today I thought I’d share my spring essentials—what I’m adding to my routine this season!
My Spring Essentials
(aka what I’ve learned over the years to help with spring allergies & seasonal changes)
Bitters
I take bitters 10-20 minutes before dinner to stimulate bile flow and enzyme production, supporting digestion and liver function. Since the liver plays an important role in detoxification, this small habit helps my body adjust to the season’s shift.
Nettle & Quercetin Supplement
With spring comes pollen, and with pollen comes seasonal allergies. Nettle and quercetin help regulate the body’s histamine response, easing symptoms like congestion and itchy eyes.
Dandelion Tea
Dandelion is a gentle yet powerful herb for liver support, digestion, and lymphatic movement—exactly what the body needs after winter’s stagnation.
Matcha
A springtime tea I crave. Matcha is rich in antioxidants, particularly EGCG, which supports cellular health. It also contains L-theanine, which promotes a calm focus.
Bee Pollen
Nature’s multivitamin. It’s packed with B vitamins and enzymes that can help support the immune system and lessen allergy symptoms when taken consistently.
Castor Oil Packs
A favorite for digestive health, lymphatic drainage, and overall wellness. Especially helpful when my body feels sluggish or in need of extra support.
Nantucket Spider Tick Spray
Warmer days mean more time in the garden and on the trails—which also means tick season. I swear by this natural tick spray made with organic essential oils. It smells great and has worked well for me.
I hope this gives you some inspiration for seasonal shifts in your own routine!
What are you incorporating this spring? 🌱
